Along with that I would get tired often and my joints ached especially in my hands and knuckles. The doctor thought that maybe it was a food allergy so I spent weeks logging everything in my diet. Then my friend Bridget thought it could be related to yeast. I noticed when I would drink beer or wine I would have thrush the next day. The one day Bridget brought me two small books about a disease called Candida Albicans.
Then a friend recommended that I go to the health food store and purchase something called acidophilus, found in the refrigerator section. I took the acidophilus along with a diets very low in yeast intake trying to avoid bread products and of course beer and wine. In about a month I was feeling like myself again and no longer had sore joints. I also ate yogurt often which is very helpful in fighting Candida.
Candida symptoms are vast and all encompassing and can even incapacitate the individual. Candida is nearly an epidemic in our society and is responsible for many of the chronic illness categories we see so frequently. Most people are unaware that it even exists, because most main stream doctors are uneducated about its impact on our health. People suffering from Candida often go from doctor to doctor for years and are usually told they are a hypochondriac or that it is stress or a psychiatric problem, before ever discovering the real culprit.
Candida Albicans is a naturally occurring yeast that is present in all our bodies and it is supposed to be there in balance with many other microorganisms. The problem begins when several factors in our lifestyle cause the Candida to grow in outstanding numbers and it overtakes all the other healthy microorganisms.
This yeast normally resides in the intestinal tract, mouth, throat and genitals, however it can burrow holes in the intestinal tract, enter the blood stream and then make it's way into any organ of the body. To make matters worse it emits over 70 different toxins into the body. Some people may even become allergic to the yeast itself.
Once this yeast proliferates in the body, it wrecks havoc in many ways.
Some of the most frequent Candida symptoms are:

- cravings for sweets
- inability to think clearly or concentrate

Good stuff - not many people know about this one. It's also a common thing for people with gluten intolerances to have - mostly those who don't realise they're gluten intolerant.

ReplyDeleteI spoke to you on the phone last night, asking about my health and you mentioned to me that I probably have Candida. Well, once again, you are right on. It makes complete sense, I've totally been experiencing some of the symptoms mentioned and was wondering.. WHY? One symptom specifically had me concerned but I won't get into details.. :) Speaking with you has made me feel a lot better and now I can stop worrying and start moving forward! Anyhoo, just wanted to thank you. The only sad part is I'll have to cut out the wine for a bit, but I only have myself to blame for that. Time to fight those cravings!
